John Wick 4 will be the longest film in the series
Baba Yaga will smash enemies for more than two hours.
Director of the upcoming John Wick 4 action movie Chad Stahelski said that the film will be the longest in the series. The confrontation between John Wick performed by Keanu Reeves and the Board of Clans will last more than two hours.
Chad Stahelski shared fresh details about John Wick 4 in an interview with Collider. The director said that the film will be longer than the previous parts of the franchise – but you should not expect a huge runtime:
“It’s longer than the previous three installments, but not too much.”
Stahelski did not reveal the length of John Wick 4. Most likely, the director does not know the exact data, since post-production is still underway. According to Stahelski, the team has several weeks of editing and sound work ahead of them. John Wick is 1 hour 41 minutes, John Wick 2 is 2 hours 2 minutes, and John Wick 3 is 2 hours 10 minutes. In this case, the new adventures of the mercenary John Wick will take at least 2 hours and 11 minutes.
At the end of John Wick 3, John Wick was betrayed. The manager of the New York Continental, Winston (Ian McShane), tried to kill John, but the hero was saved by a subordinate of the King of the Bowler (Laurence Fishburne). In John Wick 4, Baba Yaga will take revenge on Winston and other enemies. Wick will continue the confrontation with the Board of Clans. The mercenary will face the mysterious heroes of Donnie Yen and Bill Skarsgard – apparently, they are from the Klan.
The cast also includes Hiroyuki Sanada and Clancy Brown. Lionsgate has already approved John Wick 5, so the John Wick story will continue. The team planned to start filming John Wick 5 immediately after the production of the fourth part. However, in the end, the creators decided to take a break.
John Wick 4 is slated for release on March 24, 2023.
